It was wonderful to be back in Bali, Indonesia.

It is a stunning island full of complex cultural anomolies. Indonesia comprises over 17,000 islands and has 5 main religions, of which Bali is uniquely Balinese Hinduism. Indonesia is the most populace country/sqm in the world. It is amazing that the Balianese have maintained their beautiful religion inthe face of the tourist enslaught. They have maintained beauty and composure under threat.

We arrived early afternoon.

We had a fantastic excursion first to Celuk, the silver village. All Balianiese clans/ villages have a craft and the work together as a unit. We have been to Celuk many times before and given we live at silver blackening Sawtell we weren't really interested.

Next stop was a whole different experience.

It was a Bird Park where the birds of Indonesia were displayed. Some nearly extinct birds such as the Bali Starling were hibernated and bought back from extinction.

It was thoroughly enjoyable experience. Then we were then treated to a generous traditional buffet dinner.

BUT TOP BILLING was the tradtional Kecak dance. We hadn't seen this since the kids were little. It is and amazing dance emulating monkeys, a love story, fire walking and redemption. About 50 performers in the ampitheatre. It was stunning!

We were bussed home to the Vista just in time to see a folkloric interpretation of the Legong Dance. Where the beautiful boys and girls have refined hand and foot movement that give a historical presentation of boy meets girl.
