This island is a 390 km² Indonesian island, part of the Komodo National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), famed as the primary habitat of the world's largest lizard, the Komodo dragon and located between Sumbawa and Flores. Komodo is a steep unforgiving volcanic island.

It was bloody hot and humid when we arrived at Komodo. We walked through the vegetation to witness these scary creatures: cross between a croc and our goanna. It is a strong and fast carnivour, that you wouldn't want to mess with. They can swim, climb trees and chase you down at 20kph. They can smell their next meal (usually deer or pig) from 8km away. There were lots of guards with us.

Great dinner with Coral, Maryanne and their Johns.
