Independent Samoa was certainly a pleasant contrast to American Samoa.
Raining again BUT Alan and I took a taxi to the various sites that interested us.
Robert Louis Stevenson's home, now a credible museum is perched in the hills behind Apia. Stevenson relocated to Samoa to escape the Scottish cold, via Paris, California and other locations He was always seeking new homes, having always been of poor health. Eventually he settled with his wife Fanny in Samoa, in 1889, and maintained relatively good health and productive writing in this period.
We also visited the new Art and Cultural centre, provided by PR of China!
Samoa has a significantly large number of churches of every stripe.
