Rio is a city of over 14m featuring the famous Christ Redeemer statue and Sugarloaf mountain. Both volcanic plugs that have been thrust up sometime in the never never.

We were up early to see the passge to the dock only there was so much rain and mist was generally not at all visible.

Our dear room stewards Putu and Raul left today, so hugs all round.

As it looked very much like an indoor day, we took a cab with Connie and Mimi to a wool store to get some resources to keep our fingers busy. Al found a place at Copacobana on the net. It was hilarious, we waved at the famous Copacabana and Flamengo Beaches through rainstreaked glass in our 45min journey for wool. Al really enjoyed the experience.

Then we taxied to the historic Portuguese do Litura library only to find a 2 block long ticket line up in the rain. Most will know how Al would react to such a condition of entry so we decided to cut our losses much to the taxi driver's delight.

After all, we had to prepare for the complimentary night out from Oceania for "Colours of Rio-Roxy Dinner Show". This was 5 busloads of our best friends, who are doing the round the world, to a recently refurbished heritage theatre. The dinner was great considering how many people they were feeding. The show was a loud and colourful show based on the various states of Brazil all in Portuguese, so no real idea what they were saying. Back in bed well after midnight, no Wordle so appeased ourselves with a bit of Australian Open on the sports channel.
