We had a pretty chilled day at Banjul, arriving at 11am. We did some at port shopping(textiles), practised ukelele, watched Hamnet and had a meal at Polo. We were looking out of Polo to a majority darkened city. Virtually no street lights let alone household lights. Apparently it imports all of its (fossil) fuel supplies.

It is the capital of Gambia and has a population of 35K and was originally named Bathust and apparently had a fort established for the protection against slave trading.
