Its a beautiful day again, hot and humid. Can't believe our luck. No rain or wind since we have sailed. The day started with a realisation that westpac had suspended our credit cards OMG. Took a while with the help of Mel and Lib to get sorted. Realised that my brain was definetly on holidays.
We had another talk on the Panama Canal economy before late docking.
Puntarenas port is much the same utiliarian space. We had been to Costa Rica before, but I had forgotten much of what our guide on our ecological mangrove river cruise told us. Specifically that Costa Rica does not have an army and that their tax revenue goes to support the populace's education and health. They have moved from a strata-ed society of rich and poor to predominantly middle class. They were one of the world's first countries to electrify. Now they are the home to many high tech companies.

Unfortunately Alan's phone over heated and we don't have the photos of the amazing wildlife that we saw on the mangrove cruise. Specifically: scarlet Macaws, crocodiles, tiger heron, great egret, Jesus lizard and many more.
The highlight was a rare sighting of White-faced Capuchin monkey which was feasting on banana flowers.
We were treated to a folk loric event in the hills of Costa Rica, where I played the drunken dancer. No probs.
