Good Friday today so much of Suva was closed.
We had a great day at Suva the capital of Fiji today. We engaged a taxi to take us to the various sites around Suva. The Fiji Museum was fabulous, displaying the traditional culture up to the recent. It was beautifully curated with an incredible timber log catamaran as a the entry focal feature.
Suva is Fiji's political and administrative capital, and was established in 1882. There is every kind of major religious establishment known occupying the minds and pockets of the Fijians.
For me the were some stand out exhibits: the stone fish helmet on the village chief would have frightened any white man, and the same of the whale tooth necklace.
It absolutely bucketted down when we were shopping so we were glad of the taxi.
Also glad we won Trivia tonight.
Dinner at Jacques with Barbara and Garry.
